The main design approach was to make the app look like a native application from Apple in the iOS design style to feel natively integrated into the smartphone. This gives the user a well known feeling of the app and not another user experience design he needs to get used to. This works fine because Porsche and Apple share a lot of design principles like simplicity of use and reduced design styling.
When opening the app you see the last opened car on the app or if you are in the car the one you are currently sitting in. If you want to change the car just tab on the car name or the dropdown-icon next to it and select the car of your choice in the dropdown menu.
Also you can see on the main screen the most important information regarding your Porsche like general information, preconditioning, navigation and store.
General information you can see on the screens below for the different cars. It holds features like locking/unlocking, current tire pressure, lights on/off, interior temperature and if software updates are available.
Preconditioning opens another menu where you can activate/deactivate the air conditioning for lowering/increasing interior temperature and for electric cars also preparing the battery for optimal temperature. Here you can also set your own timetables for more automated behavior.
In navigation you can set already the next destination with your car on the smartphone and don’t need to wait until you sit in the car.
Store holds different software and hardware products which are available for the selected car.
In the next section is also the current GPS position of the car and you can select to navigate yourself to your car.
