Inspiration

Mercedes-AMG is generally using a centered instrument cluster in front of the driver.
This design layout was used as a central point in my own design. Due to this fact I could create a centered static part in my design and a rotating part around it.

The design language of Mercedes-AMG is strongly influenced by the design of Mercedes-Benz but adjusted with some characteristics like more straight lines connected by sharper corners to achieve a more bold look.

Like the engine of the Mercedes-AMG One also the seating position is very close to Formula One. Which is the reason this car has also vertically flat steering unit for improved sight.
This design gave me the idea to lower the position even more by placing the instrument cluster not on top but in the unit itself.

UI Design
This concept considers an all electric supersportscar. Therefore only electric components are considered in the design of the user interface which is placed directly in the steering wheel.
Here we have the overview over the most interesting temperatures to the driver as well as the current charging state of the battery and the power output of the car. In case of recuperating this would change to charge.
In the middle is the part which is always aligning to the horizontal axis of the car. Like this the most important information about speed, gear and rotation speed are always easy to grasp.
Also there is an augmented reality feature integrated in the concept which can give critical information about the road ahead without moving the eyes far away from the street.
The overall design is inspired by the exterior lines of a Mercedes-AMG with the straight lines and medium sharp edges. It also inherits the luxurious design which comes from Mercedes-Benz and combining it to a true luxury-performance experience.
With the glass like elements the whole design looks very light and therefore easy to handle, which is how a race car should feel on the track.
